The spell AZ make no mention of this 1/combat limitation. Is it true that one could cast multiple AZ spells on a target while a Sentinel can only use their skill AZ once per combat?

Skills are weighted by skill points and times per day/combat/etc. in a (very) roughly equivalent to casting the Spell a particular number of times (most typically 3x), but also in balance with other Skills based on where they fall in the Skill charts (i.e. which professions, how many points to get to them, etc.). In the case of A's E.M., as Kimber mentioned, beneficial skills are typically 1/combat. We felt that using all three right after another in the same combat (potentially 72 pts per use in full plate) was unbalanced with something like Toughness for example, which is only 20 points but can be used all 3x back to back. Conversely with the Spell, there's a set mana cost to recast the spell, which pulls mana points from casting other spells throughout the rest of the day, can be negated by Muting, can eventually run out of mana, etc. because of the way the Spell system works differently than Skills. As mentioned in another thread, an A's E.M. magic item functions as a hybrid of Spells and Skills, allowing it to be used multiple times per combat based on charges, but still only up to 3x per day, all for a flat construction cost of the magic item (similar to 12 skill points for the skill). Just a different mechanic, such as why Potions are typically level 4 spell effects and lower, and poultices are primarily preventative. On a side note, we've discussed a Skill use point pool similar to mana points previously, but that basically makes everyone a Skill Caster which wasn't feasible without revamping the entire game. Also, as seen with Nature's Wrath, 1/combat EVERY combat for 12 points was extremely overpowered, so that system wouldn't work either. Hope that answers the question as to why, but if not please let us know!

Enchanted weapon skill-works in anti magic Enchanted weapon spell-does not Work in anti magic AZ skill-works in anti magic AZ spell-does not Work in antimagic.
