The COS Vampire website is back online! It's been reformatted for 2010, and is sporting a new look and color scheme.

*Dead, Changed, or Duplicate logins have been pruned from the site. We are checking daily and will approve new logins as needed. If you are having problems signing in, go ahead and make a new login and we'll get you up and running as soon as possible!*

The newly updated PC creation guide & house rules are in the Downloads section. We'll be working to send out experience totals using the PM function of the site. If you don't receive your total within a week or so, please send an email to the Storyteller group at Vampire@circleofswords.com and we'll get them to you.

All players will be remaking characters under the new rules guidelines (no experience penalty for changing & re-creating the same character is fine too). There will be a PC creation day on Feb 20th at Dave's house (see events below). No need to create a new login for this change, editing your login for a new name is fine (we can help if you don't know how).

2010's plotlines combine the best of the old and a whole new central plotline. Since the players are all creating or recreating characters, there has never been a better time to play or bring new players. Jump into the game from the restart and get involved!

The rules committee just finished up the full review of our house rules. Our measuring stick for all rules was to ask if they help make the game Fun, Simple, & Fair. The website should be back online by Feb 1st, with changes, updates, and a full plotline update for 2010. Individual player experience points will be available as soon as possible, but definitely by the Feb 20th event.

Moving forward, we’re initiating a “partial” restart, which means:

The 2010 plotline will involve some plot twists and world changes designed to keep the game fresh and new, even for long time players. Ongoing plotlines will not change – allowing players to continue in their favorite stories. The plotline will open new doors for players also, with many new opportunities for party-style adventuring or PVP style politics.

All players must create characters using the new rules. Players could change characters or simply re-create an old character following the new rules. Everyone will have the same options for PC creation available through a simple walk-through creation guide.

The city’s Prince will be an NPC, for game/plotline balance and fairness. Players, however, will hold the Seneschal and other high ranking positions. Who holds the positions will be determined at the games, and could/will change hands over time. With the PC creation reset, characters will all be getting an equal chance to move into powerful positions– so it’s a good time to join if you’re considering. All players will have many opportunities to succeed in the city, position or not.

COS Vampire Game Update:

Player suggestions and feedback have been heavily considered in the direction we are taking from both a rules and storyline perspective. The rules committee has met on October 18th and November 22nd, and is well on the way to having the house rules revised and ready for CosCon! The next rules meetings will take place after the holidays, and we’ll wrap up the rules for the convention.

Some exciting new changes include:

• Simplified PC creation, with more options!
  
• Combo Powers will be available
  
• The boards are being worked on for the re-launch.
  
• and more…

The Storytellers held a meeting on Dec 6th, and have worked out a continuingstoryline that is going to be a twist for our players! We’re very excited at what is lined up for this year. In addition to the politics, there will be many adventures and plotlines for the players to pursue in groups or individually.

Finally, we are looking into having up to 4 Vampire events in addition to the this year’s conventions! We also are lining up a very special surprise for this year’s COSCON pre-reg players!

Together, this is our game, and I’m very thankful for all the responses, suggestions, and well wishes we have received that are helping us to meet our goal of everyone having fun at our events!
