The Half Ogres

Half Ogre Homeland: Bruk

The creation of the children of war, the half-ogres was one not of love or caring but instead of the lust for power and the thrill of victory. During the age of life a war between the ogres led by the mage Orgus and the orcs led by their great shaman Filthric was fought to a stand still. That was until the orcs began to suddenly win battle after battle. Orgus sent spies into the orc camps to find out their secret weapon. To his surprise the orcs had deployed their half-breeds into positions of leadership. Although less than full orcs their minds showed the sharpness of their human sides which allowed them to out think their ogre adversaries.

As Orgus plotted he was confronted by the fact that Ogre blood and for that matter anatomy was incompatible with that of humans. He realized that in order to have the generals he needed he would have to create his own. The idea of surrender to the orcs was unthinkable.

He searched many ancient tomes and eventually found a spell that would help him. He rushed hurriedly as day after day he lost more ground to the orcan hordes. He selected several of his finest warriors to test the spell on. His first few resulted in little more than a pile of steaming unrecognizable parts. Eventually he got the spell to work after a few variations. At last now he had his generals. The ogres were supposed to only gain intelligence but instead they also lost some of their monstrous size. They did gain a cunning and ferociousness that was as yet unmatched. Orgus called them logically half-ogres. He immediately placed them in combat positions. His success was immediate. Although he was not able to wipe out the orcs he did manage to restore the balance. His half-ogres proved to be strong, with a quick temper, resistant to the poison blades of the orcs, and with a nasty penchant to go into a bestial rage .

After years of war with no side gaining a clear advantage each side was forced to divert its attention to a new threat: the dark elves....
